Remain in Me

My prayer based on John 15:4-11 - written 12/2024

How do I keep you with me

Every part of my day

How do I keep you in every thought

A priority I desire to make

How do I listen well to what

You have to say

Is it that I just trust that you are here

Beside me, inside me

Your still small voice I long to hear

Knowing every part of my day is

In line with your will

Confident that what I’m doing is obedient to your way

I know to love you is to obey you

But I long for deeper awareness, to remain in your presence

I want to hear your voice guiding every choice and every thought and every action

Remain in me and I will remain in you

Perhaps this is where faith and trust go

Hand in hand

Faith that you are with me whether I hear or feel anything at all

Trust that you keep your word

So here I am Lord ready to remain in you

I believe you will remain in me

Because of your words: Remain in me and I will remain in you.

A Reading of Alwind’s Tale from The Armor Giver

My dream is to have the audio for the book done this summer! But take a listen and imagine with us, as I read the Family of Seven’s quest to find the Armor Giver. Video was taken by the kids and I during a hike in the beautiful El Corte Madera Creek Preserve. Hoping to capture the curiosity of children and what the Family of Seven may have seen while going to Alwind’s and then escaping to find the Armor Giver. I am sad Lord

But you are risen

I’m frustrated

But you are risen

I am worn out

But you are risen

I am torn down by others

But you are risen

I feel down

But you are risen

I feel defeated

But you are risen

I feel like the trials are numerous

But you are risen

My heart can feel many things

But the truth is you are risen

These feelings don’t define my life

Because, you are risen

Many are the sorrows

Many are the trials

But one truth my heart clings to

You are risen

You are risen indeed

So my trials are already overcome

And my sorrows are already overcome

Yes my trials and my sorrows

Are already overcome

And that truth is what my heart heals with

Jesus is Risen

He is Risen Indeed

Only by You

Why do I do the very thing I shouldn’t?

And why don’t I do what I should do?

I cannot be the holy child I’m meant to be without you Holy Spirit

Not without you

And even though I have your words

to guide my life to lead me in perfection

My selfishness often wins the race.

I cannot be saved without you Jesus

I cannot be saved without you.

And when you say to love you with all of my heart

Often other things take your place

I’m sorry God because you deserve all my love

But I cannot love without you God

No I cannot love without you.

So make me new Lord

Just as you promised

Daily give me freedom

to walk away from Me

And all the lies that surround my mind

Let your truth transform me

For I can only be holy by you

And I can only be saved by you

I can only love with you by my side

This is my prayer

Transform my life

Do only what you can do, God

Do only what you can do,

Amen.

Ravenbird

O Raven bird

Are you wicked or deceiving

Black as night

With eyes that are foreboding

Are your songs

filled with doom and bad omen

Are they warnings of destructions

said in the poems

Or Raven bird

Is there something deeper

Hidden in the

words you seem to scream

Is your shrill cry

nothing but a love song

To the one who made

and gave to you your wings

O Raven bird

You fly among the people

Swiftly you can snatch

and get away

Did you understand

your mission to Elijah

Dropping bread and meat

would bring him change

So Raven bird

No dying of starvation

By your strong feet

Elijah received relief

It seems to me the poets

have you mislabeled

God used you to deliver

hope when he felt defeat

Raven bird

Misinformed we fear you

But did you know the truth

All the while

Is that why you

sing out your song so loudly

To remind the world

Of your history

Raven bird

You’re many and ferocious

Yet you obey whom

Made you fierce and free

O Raven bird

Is your shrill cry

A holy love song

A love song to

the maker of you

and me.
